DEVEX designs and supplies complete plants for the production of cold brew coffee and tea. Our plants enable efficient roasting of the green coffee, extraction of the roasted coffee, as well as concentration, clarification, preservation and filling of the cold brew coffee extract. Cold brew coffee and tea is usually sold as a liquid concentrate with 10 - 25 % solids (TDS). Drying to a soluble powder can also be offered if required. .
Cold brew - the coolest way to coffee
Cold brew coffee has been one of the hottest trends in recent times. Its unique flavour profile opens up completely new worlds of taste! As the extraction yield is relatively low due to the gentle extraction at low temperatures (usually approx. 20-30°C), it is particularly important to optimise it. DEVEX's unique technology provides the optimum flavour profile with the best possible yield.
Later in the process, it is important to preserve the flavour profile through gentle treatment, such as non-thermal concentration using a special reverse osmosis process. Fast and efficient transfer of the extract through the process up to preservation is also important in order to prevent biochemical changes to the extract.

Flexibility is one of the hallmarks of DEVEX cold brew coffee plants. Different extraction temperatures can be set to produce both cold brew and hot brew extracts (at up to 125°C), with higher yields but also different flavour profiles. In this way, you will always be able to satisfy the most demanding tastes of your customers. The same plant can also be used to extract tea or other plants in addition to coffee. An integrated CIP system ensures proper cleaning when changing the product. The extraction plants can work in both maceration and percolation processes.
